Hi
What a brilliant turn out despite the wintry conditions – well done every body who was tough & daft enough to turn out.
It was amazing to see the Trout rise & the flies hatch as it snowed.
Some great catches topped by Davy Learmonths “Brownie” of 4lb 12oz.
Tommy had three over 2lbs on one cast – Gordon “Thorny” Thorn had a cracker over 2lbs – Graeme O’Brien had a cracker still to get the photo in. Our own Graeme Hamilton our Pond Convenor & Competition had a couple one a right “fatty” – thanks for organising another great day – great laughs & banter from everybody.
It was great to have Total Fishing Lanarkshire along today – thanks for the prizes & i know all the anglers appreciated the mobile tackle shop.
There was a cracking turn out today – don’t have the numbers to hand but there must have been 30.
Today was all about a bit of fun – some social time for our members & guests – it was also about promoting Catch & Release – no fish were killed today & are there to be caught again π
Please see Tommy’s fish from the day below –
Geo had a tour of the UAAA Hatchery & Ponds by our Chairman Wullie Weir – followed by a visit to our “Open Day” had a few casts at Glengavel followed by a wee walk up the Spoutloch Burn to visit the old shooting bothy.
Tightlines for the rest of the Trout Season π
